Honduras' shrimp industry welcomes new opportunities from Asian and European markets

Mexico has reopened its market to Honduran shrimp, a decision that is expected to provide a short-term boost to the Honduran shrimp sector. Additionally, China has opened its market to Honduran white shrimp, offering a duty-free export regime. The Honduran government is also working to enter the Korean market and is providing support to small farmers through low-interest financing at 7%. The European Union continues to be a significant export market for Honduran shrimp, helping to offset losses from reduced supply to other markets.
