Recent dry weather and high temperatures are impacting soybean production in Argentina, with 62.2% of tables currently in the critical yield period. The damage includes loss of squares, pod abortion, and early grain filling. The production estimate has been reduced to 33.5 MTn due to the impact on 10 MHa of the agricultural area. Some fields may see up to a 50% loss in yields due to water reserve depletion and above-average temperatures. Despite some recent humidity, the crops require more rain to mitigate the effects of the high temperatures and demand.
