Rio, 10/10/2025 - The Producer Price Index (PPI), which includes prices from the extractive and manufacturing industries, registered a decline of 0.20% in August, reported the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) shortly ago. The rate for July was revised from a reduction of 0.30% to a drop of 0.31%.

The PPI measures the evolution of product prices at the "factory gate," excluding taxes and freight, from the extractive industry and 23 sectors of the manufacturing industry.

With the result, the PPI for extractive and manufacturing industries accumulated a drop of 3.62% for the year and an advance of 0.48% over 12 months.

Considering only the extractive industry, there was a decline of 1.39% in August, following the increase of 2.46% in July.

Meanwhile, the manufacturing industry registered a reduction of 0.15% in August, compared to a decline of 0.43% in July.
