Imports of citrus fruits into the EU, oranges on the rise, lemons on the decline

Recent data from the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission highlights significant changes in the panorama of citrus imports within the European Union. The detailed report, analyzing January imports, reveals divergent trends between oranges and lemons. During the month of January, orange imports experienced a remarkable increase, reaching a total of 51,687 tonnes. Compared to the 13,472 tonnes recorded in December, this substantial increase suggests a notable change in Europeans' consumption habits.
