In 2021, Russia saw a significant increase in its grain exports, reaching 49.6 million tons to 147 countries, up from 138 in the previous year. The main exports included wheat, barley, corn, and peas, with the largest markets being Turkey, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and China. Despite challenges such as non-compliance with import requirements, the Rosselkhoznadzor continued efforts to expand export markets and improve quality control. New or increased exports of certain products like peas, flax seeds, wheat bran, and wheat flour were noted. The government also implemented new regulations to improve quality and safety control, leading to the inspection of over 57 million tons of grain and grain processing products, the revelation of over 7,000 violations, and imposing fines exceeding 100 million rubles. These actions aim to enhance the efficiency of control and supervisory activities, ensuring the quality and safety of Russia's grain and grain processing products in the export market.
