The National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science predicts that the cultivation area for summer cabbage will decrease in South Korea over the next 30 years due to global warming, with the potential disappearance of the crop by 2100. In contrast, the cultivation area for kiwi and warm-season garlic is expected to expand, indicating a shift in suitable crop cultivation areas due to climate change. The Rural Development Administration plans to use this information for climate change adaptation measures in agriculture and to supply crops suitable for changing climate characteristics.
