The Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) has reported a significant decrease in unground corn exports from Brazil, with the first week of July seeing only 5.28% of the total exports from July of the previous year. The daily average of shipments in the first five days of July was 77.8% lower compared to the same period in July of the previous year, and the revenue generated from these exports has also seen an 80.8% decrease. The average price per ton of Brazilian corn has also fallen by 13.3% from US$244.80 in July of the previous year to US$212.20 in the first week of July of the current year, highlighting a period of reduced competitiveness for Brazilian corn in the international market.
