The cattle slaughter in Paraguay reached a total of 165,955 heads in October, according to official data from the National Service of Quality and Animal Health (Senacsa).

The figure confirms a slowdown in industrial activity and stands as the second-lowest output of the year, barely above the March record, when 163,566 animals were processed. In total, Paraguayan industries slaughtered 42.3 thousand tons of meat, in a month marked by a limited supply of fat cattle, adjustments in purchase prices by the plants, and a more selective industrial pace in the face of the cost and export scenario. During the month, the Frigorífico Belén plant consolidated itself as the one with the highest volume of activity, processing 37,878 animals and 9.9 thousand tons, equivalent to 23% of the national total. It was followed by Frigomerc with 16,937 heads and Frigochorti with 16,431. By categories, bulls concentrated more than half of the monthly total with 86,615 heads.
