Russia has seen a 17% increase in the production of deeply processed pollock products, such as fillets, minced meat, and surimi, reaching 7.6 thousand tons since the start of 2025. The surimi production alone has surged by 41% during the same period, according to the Pollock Fishermen Association. As of February 19, the pollock catch in all Russian fishing areas was 437.3 thousand tons, with expectations to surpass 1 million tons by mid-April, following the record-setting pollock catch of 1.998 million tons in 2024.
