The Samsun Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has conducted a total of 18,758 food inspections by 2025. Administrative fines totaling 20,628,849 TL were imposed on businesses operating in violation of the Turkish Food Codex. Across Samsun, there are a total of 13,312 food and feed businesses, of which 1,413 are production and 11,899 are sales, bulk consumption, feed, import, and export. In the framework of these inspections, 145 control officers evaluated the compliance of businesses with regulations, taking 2,159 samples and conducting 18,758 food inspections. All 37 samples taken from businesses producing ready meals were found to comply with the Turkish Food Codex. Of the 439 samples taken from businesses operating in food sales and/or bulk consumption, 53 were found to be in violation of the Codex. In 2025, there were 1,208 applications to the Food 174 line.
