In the first half of 2023, the Siberian Customs Administration saw a doubling in the weight of oilseeds exported compared to the same period last year. Flax seeds accounted for 75% of these exports, followed by rape seeds at 23% and sunflower seeds at 2%. The export of vegetable oils also increased by 2.7 times, with rapeseed oil making up the largest portion at 88%, followed by sunflower oil at 10.5%, and soybean oil at 1.6%. China remains the main consumer for both Siberian oilseeds and vegetable oils, with Uzbekistan and Mongolia also being significant buyers.
