In the first quarter of 2022, Uzbekistan experienced a significant increase in walnut exports, with a 285% rise to 1,000 tons valued at $3.5 million, compared to the same period last year. Despite this growth, greenhouse tomato exports saw a decrease of 13.2%, with a total of 19.2 thousand tons earning $13.6 million. Peanut exports also fell by 16.7% to 5.8 thousand tons, generating $6.8 million. Grapes were the top earning crop, bringing in $31.8 million from 31.4 thousand tons exported. Early cabbage exports rounded out the quarter, with a volume of 71.1 thousand tons earning $15.5 million. Overall, Uzbekistan's fruit and vegetable exports amounted to 258.6 thousand tons, valued at $168.8 million, accounting for 2.9% of its total exports. The primary markets for these exports included the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, China, and Pakistan.
