[Korean Farmers' Newspaper Reporter Du-hyun Lee] The Korea Grape Association, established in 2010, launched the Grape Compulsory Relief Fund in 2019, striving to promote the rights of grape producers and contribute to supply and demand stability. While domestic grapes, which had seen a steady decrease in cultivation area since 2010, showed a recovery in production scale towards the end of the 2010s due to the popularity of Shine Muscat, they have recently faced several challenges, including excessive concentration on the Shine Muscat variety, quality degradation, and deteriorating cultivation environments due to climate change. We met with Park Kyung-hwan, Chairman of the Korea Grape Association (Chairman of Seosangju Agricultural Cooperative), on the 19th to hear about the role of the Grape Relief Fund in responding to these crises.
