[Korean Farmers' News Agency Reporter Kang Jae-nam] Jeju Province is taking steps to block the distribution of out-of-season tangerines at the source. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced that it will conduct inspections on the distribution of out-of-season tangerines in response to illegal activities such as forced coloring by some wholesalers, as this year's tangerine production is expected to significantly decrease. The province designated the period from October 10 to October 17 as a special inspection period for the distribution of out-of-season tangerines from open fields and conducted special inspections in collaboration with private tangerine distribution supervisors at 384 wholesalers in the provincial wholesale markets and traditional markets in Jeju. The province estimates that this year's tangerine production will be 395,700 tons, the lowest level ever.
