Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin of Kazakhstan has urged the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure a consistent vegetable supply for the megacities Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent, as these cities are experiencing a market shortage and rising prices. To stabilize the unstable prices of fresh produce, he suggested the implementation of forward contracts for early harvests. The Ministry has been tasked with designating permanent suppliers from neighboring regions to ensure a steady supply of social products in these cities by the off-season of 2025.
