In 2023, Lamjung farmers achieved a record-breaking revenue of Rs 200 million from the sale of cardamom, surpassing the previous year's earnings of Rs 182 million. With a total sale of 380 metric tons, they shattered the previous record set since commercial farming began in 2041 BS. Despite challenges like price fluctuations due to India's monopoly, they managed to sell at reasonable prices, with some even seeing increased production and income. However, concerns persist about the true extent of cardamom cultivation in the district, as only half of the reported 1,000 hectares is actually being used for production.
