The current report for 2020 is now available. A total of 1,233 German fishing vessels in the German deep-sea and coastal fisheries (2019: 1,307) landed around 181,137 tons (landed weight) of fish in 2020, 6.5 percent less than in 2019. The German Fisheries generated around 182.1 million euros (2019: 194.9 million euros). The top 5 fish species landed were: blue whiting (22.9 percent), herring (19.4 percent), mackerel (13.6 percent) Percent), sprat (10.4 percent) and pilchard sardine (6.3 percent).
