This winter, due to the impact of intermittent strong cold waves, there is a forecast of low water temperature phenomena occurring mainly in the shallow coastal areas of the West Sea and the South Sea. The National Institute of Fisheries Science urged aquaculture operators to make thorough preparations in advance. As of early December, the water temperature in our country's coastal areas is 0.5 to 2.0℃ higher than the average year, and this winter, the East Sea and the South Sea are expected to be about 1℃ higher than the average year, but the West Sea is expected to be at the average level. The Meteorological Administration stated, "This winter, the temperature will be similar to the average year, but the temperature fluctuation range due to intermittent cold waves will be large." The institute noted that cold air will flow in from the north in December and that continental high pressure will be present in January and February.
