Kazakhstan is suffering from an oversupply of beef, with the country currently having 104% of its beef supply needs met, according to Asylzhan Mamytbekov, the chairman of the board of the Meat Union of Kazakhstan. The country has a large cattle population and is aided by 50 feedlots, with plans to establish 100,000 family farms. Mamytbekov advocates against quotas, restrictions, tariffs, and non-tariff barriers in the EAEU countries, arguing that the industry has a significant export potential and that business profitability and social assistance are crucial.
