The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in South Korea is introducing a new pre-registration system for grape exports to Taiwan, effective May 23rd, in response to Taiwan's efforts to enhance safety management at the customs clearance stage. This system will manage safety throughout the export process, from production to customs clearance, by assigning unique registration numbers to exporters and farms. Export companies and farms will need to complete pesticide safety use training, report to the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation, undergo pesticide residue testing, and obtain a quarantine certificate before exporting. This system is expected to boost the export competitiveness of Korean grapes.
