The Ministry of Agriculture in Brazil is set to meet with Chinese health authorities on Tuesday to discuss the recent atypical Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) case in Pará, with the aim of lifting the embargo on Brazilian beef exports. Despite this case, the World Organization for Animal Health (WHOA) has noted that Brazil's risk status for BSE remains negligible. The resumption of Brazilian beef exports to China is anticipated, possibly by the end of March, following a decision by the Chinese General Administration of Customs (GACC) for an in-person visit by Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture representatives. This development could potentially boost arroba prices in the domestic market.
