Moldovan farmers are facing significant concerns due to the ongoing lack of precipitation, which is expected to result in smaller and lower quality harvests, particularly for cereal crops. There is also growing worry about the potential impact on fruit yields, with crops such as apples, cherries, and plums being affected by poor pollination due to low temperatures. These issues were highlighted during an online meeting between the Ministry of Agriculture and district directorates. Farmers in several districts have declared the situation critical and are seeking drought declaration certificates as they prepare for a potentially catastrophic loss of crops, with approximately 30-35% of crops currently in good condition and the remaining 40-45% being satisfactory or unsatisfactory.
