Mongolian companies are planning to increase the supply of halal meat to Central Asia, Azerbaijan, and Iran by implementing international standards in production. This decision was outlined in an online meeting between the Mongolian Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Khayangaagiin Bolorchuluun, and his Uzbek counterpart, Aziz Voitov. The Uzbek side has shown interest in increasing meat supply through a joint livestock farm in Mongolia. In September, Mongolia and Uzbekistan agreed to establish an intergovernmental commission to enhance agricultural cooperation, which will be established in Q1 2023. In the first 10 months of 2022, Mongolian companies exported 500 tons of meat and offal to Uzbekistan, with expectations for significant growth in the future.
