In December 2022, the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor monitored potato stores in the Oryol and Kursk regions for bacterial ring rot and potato stem nematode. No quarantine issues were found in 16 potato farms, as confirmed by FGBI "ARRIAH" laboratory studies. Both diseases, Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus and Ditylenchus destructor, can be spread through contaminated tubers, plant debris, and other surfaces, causing significant crop damage and yield loss. These diseases are commonly distributed in temperate regions, including Europe, Asia, and North America.
