The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has obtained a license to export Brazilian olive oil to Morocco, adding to a previous license to export dried distillation grains. Morocco was the third main destination for Brazilian agricultural exports to Africa last year, with a value of approximately 1.23 billion US dollars. The opening of the Moroccan market to Brazilian olive oil is seen as having diplomatic significance and is expected to enhance competitiveness in the Moroccan market, despite the higher cost of importing olive oil from Brazil.
