Mozambique has approved reference prices for its current cashew nut harvest, expected to yield 160 thousand tons, ranging from 84 thousand meticais to 101 thousand meticais per ton. This decision was made during the 2nd Session of the Almond Committee, led by Ilídio Bande, due to unfavorable weather conditions causing a 32.6% decrease in cashew nut exports in the first quarter of 2024. The main destinations for Mozambican nut exports are India, Vietnam, the USA, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and China, and the reference price for selling the raw material to producers this season is 10% higher than the previous season.
