During August 2025, national potato production reached 217,368 tons, registering a growth of 11.1% compared to the same month in 2024. This increase was driven by higher plantings and favorable water conditions that allowed for an adequate maturation process of the crop, in a context of high domestic demand both from households and the gastronomic sector, due to the diversity of varieties offered by this tuber. The regions that most contributed to this result were La Libertad (392.0%), Arequipa (69.3%), and Huánuco (20.8%), which together represented 51.8% of the national total.
