Frutas de Chile and Eastern Air Logistics (EAL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the air shipment of fresh Chilean cherries to China. The agreement includes the exchange of trade data and customs procedures, and aims to boost mutual support in advertising and promotion activities. Last season, Chile exported 18,000 tonnes of fresh fruit to China by air, 81% of which were cherries. Over the past decade, EAL has transported over 50,000 tonnes of products from Chile to China, valued at over US$1bn.
