The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCE) in the UAE has announced that organic carrots contaminated with E. coli bacteria are not available in the country's markets. This announcement was made in collaboration with local food control authorities, following reports of an E. coli outbreak in the US. The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently investigating the outbreak, which has resulted in one death and 15 hospitalizations across 18 states. E. coli infections, often spread through contaminated food or water, can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea, and fever, and can lead to more severe complications like kidney damage, especially in children and the elderly.
