In Ukraine, damage by pests and the development of diseases have been recorded in winter cereal crops. Specifically, larvae of the bread beetle have been found in winter cereal crops in farms of the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Cherkasy, and Kherson regions. This is reported by Kurkul.com, citing a phytosanitary monitoring report. Experts warn that, with the preservation of positive temperatures, the larvae of the bread beetle will continue to damage winter cereals. Furthermore, under current agroclimatic conditions, a complex of diseases, including dark brown spot, brown leaf rust, alternariosis, powdery mildew, septoria, and root rot, is observed on 5–31% of winter wheat and barley crops. The infection reserve is maintained at 0.4–5% of plants. Under temperatures of 3–5 °C and air humidity of 90–100%, further development of diseases is possible.
