Ecuador pond prices remain stable, following the Shanghai Fisheries Expo, Ecuadorian exporters increased their quotes for the Chinese market, while prices for various specifications remained unchanged.

Sources indicate that safety issues in Ecuador are beginning to trouble shrimp farmers again, local lower temperatures continue to affect growth, but production is expected to recover in October.

Indian prices fall broadly, tariff impact becomes evident

Starting from August 27, the tariff for Indian shrimp exported to the U.S. increased to 50%, and except for some processing plants that need to complete orders, no new U.S. orders are flowing into India. Currently, Indian manufacturers are actively seeking alternative markets, including China, the EU, and Japan.

In the 36th week, except for larger sizes, Indian raw shrimp prices generally fell, with a drop of around INR 5/kg. From the end of September to October will be India's second harvest season, if the U.S. tariff issue is not resolved, some shrimp farmers may harvest early to reduce losses.

Vietnam welcomes National Day, prices rise

September 2 is Vietnam's National Day, and pond prices for white shrimp continue to rise. Vietnamese white shrimp prices are generally higher than those of Ecuador, and processing plants are actively purchasing raw materials to meet export demand for the EU market. On the other hand, prices for Vietnamese black tiger shrimp have fallen.

Indonesian prices rebound slightly

In the 35th week, shrimp prices in East Java, Indonesia, rose slightly, which the market sees as a rebound after a sharp decline. A major Indonesian shrimp company's products were found to contain radioactive elements and were recalled by U.S. supermarkets; other Indonesian manufacturers are unaffected.

Thailand prices stable

Finally, in the 36th week, Thai white shrimp prices remained stable, with current Thai prices still lower than those in December last year, up 2-3% compared to the same period last year.
