Global pepper prices on October 26, 2022, saw a slight decrease compared to the previous day. The price of black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia, and Kuching, Malaysia, experienced a minor drop, while Brazilian black pepper remained steady. White pepper prices in Indonesia also fell slightly. In September, Brazil's pepper exports increased by 34% to 8,063 tons, the highest since the beginning of the year, despite a slight decrease of 3.4% in the first nine months compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, Vietnam, the world's largest pepper producer and exporter, experienced a stable domestic pepper market but faces challenges such as unsustainability and market requirements. The domestic pepper price in Vietnam is trading around 56,500 - 59,000 VND/kg, while coffee prices have decreased by 100 VND/kg.
