Peruvian fresh garlic exports experienced a positive growth in 2023, reaching 17 countries and involving nearly 60 companies. The year concluded with a total of 18,719 tons worth US$ 32 million, marking a 13% increase in volume and 34% in value, largely due to a global rise in garlic prices. The United States, Mexico, and Ecuador were the primary recipients, accounting for 87% of total exports. Notably, the United States saw a significant increase in both volume and value, while Mexico experienced a decrease due to a redirection of shipments to the United States.
