Peruvian strawberry exports fall by 75.6% in volume and 75.2% in value in April 2024

In April of this year, 625 tons of strawberries were exported valued at US$ 1.1 million, registering a drop of -75.6% in volume and -75.2% in value. The price increased slightly (+1.4%) from US$ 1.67 to US$ 1.69 per kilogram. In the month analyzed, the United States was the main importer of Peruvian strawberries, with 318 tons purchased at a value of US$ 423,000, an amount that accounted for 40% of the total value exported in the period. The average price to this destination was US$ 1.3 per kilogram. For its part, Canada was the second destination with 168 tons worth US$341,000. Japan was the third destination with 48 tons worth US$100,000. The prices for these destinations were US$2.0 and US$2.3 per kilogram, respectively.
