The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Luis Planas, has emphasized that the Spanish pork sector is "immensely responsible and professional" and that it will follow all appropriate biosecurity measures to try to prevent the virus from affecting production farms. He has also highlighted the work of the veterinary services of the Generalitat of Catalonia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, in adopting measures to try to prevent the spread of the disease.
