Policy of President Prabowo Lowers Fertilizer Prices by 20 Percent for the First Time in History

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- For the first time in the history of the subsidized fertilizer program, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia has officially reduced the maximum retail price (HET) of fertilizers by up to 20 percent, effective from October 22, 2025. This historic move coincides with the one-year anniversary of President Prabowo Subianto's administration and was carried out without increasing the subsidy budget from the APBN, but rather through industrial efficiency and improvements in the management of the national fertilizer distribution. This price reduction is in accordance with the Decision of the Minister of Agriculture Number 1117/Kpts./SR.310/M/10/2025 dated October 22, 2025, regarding Changes to the Decision of the Minister of Agriculture Number 800/KPTS./SR.310/M/09/2025 on the Types, Maximum Retail Prices, and Allocation of Subsidized Fertilizers for the Agricultural Sector in the 2025 Fiscal Year.
