A possible ban on Russian chicken exports could affect two countries

A temporary ban on the export of chicken meat, which the Russian Ministry of Agriculture proposed to introduce at the end of last month, may affect China and Kazakhstan. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to data from national statistical bureaus. According to them, over the past year, the first country accounted for the largest share of supplies of this product at 69 percent, while for the second it was only 11%. The UAE, Armenia and Azerbaijan close the top five with four, three and two percent, respectively. Other importers are not reported. In monetary terms, this meat was shipped to all five countries at $581.4 million. The structure of the supply of eggs (which may also be banned) turned out to be not so clear-cut.
