The article highlights the launch of three new high-yarding and high-quality industrial potato varieties, Medians, Ventury Agrihorti, and Golden Agrihorti, by the Minister of Agriculture in Indonesia. These varieties are designed for the chip and French fries industry. The article also emphasizes the potential of these varieties to meet the demand for raw materials in the large potato processing industry, which requires 100 tons/day. The article also mentions the role of Balitbangtan in the development of these potato varieties and their significant contribution to the potato cultivation in Indonesia. The Medians variety, in particular, is already being cultivated and processed into chips in West Java and Central Java, and has been exported to several countries.
