Between today and tomorrow, October 24, moderate to heavy rainfall, snowfall, and hailstorms will continue to be recorded in the Peruvian highlands. Hail is expected in areas located above 2800 m above sea level and snowfall in localities over 3900 m above sea level in the central and southern highlands, reported the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (Senamhi).
These precipitations will be accompanied by electrical discharges and wind gusts close to 45 km/h. Furthermore, the presence of scattered and light rainfall towards the coast cannot be ruled out.
Today, accumulations of up to 21 mm/day are expected in the northern highlands and around 14 mm/day in the central and southern highlands. The regions on alert are Ancash, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, La Libertad, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, and Puno.
