In 2024, the European Union (EU) achieved a record high in agricultural exports and imports, with a total of €235.4 billion in exports and €171.8 billion in imports. The exports experienced a 3% increase from the previous year, with the UK and US as the leading importers, followed by China. However, exports to China saw a significant decrease due to declines in key categories. On the other hand, imports also reached a record high, increasing by 8%, driven by higher prices of imported cocoa, coffee, fruit, and nuts. The UK, Ukraine, and Brazil were the top sources of imports, while there was a notable increase in imports from Nigeria.
