U.S. beef and pork exports have reached record levels through September, with beef exports experiencing a 20% increase to the fourth largest volume since the BSE era, and pork exports showing a 1% rise despite an 8% value increase. Japan, South Korea, and China/Hong Kong are projected to become $2 billion destinations for U.S. beef in 2021, with significant growth in chilled beef exports to these countries. China's demand for U.S. pork variety meat has remained strong, contributing to a 17% increase in pork variety meat exports to 405,744 metric tons, valued at $949.1 million. Beef variety meat exports also saw a 10% increase, led by strong markets in Japan, Mexico, Central and South America, and the ASEAN region.
