Brazil exported 92,200 tons of processed rice (in-shell basis) in May, generating revenue of US$ 25.7 million. The data is from the monthly report released by the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), based on statistics from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). The volume shipped by the national industry represents an 82% growth compared to the same period last year. The revenue obtained from foreign sales also increased by 20% on an annual basis.
