In May, Brazilian rice exports totaled 103.3 thousand tons worth US$41.8 million, showing a 47.7% drop in volume and a 38.6% decline in revenue compared to May 2023. Processed rice exports were 50.7 thousand tons, generating US$21.4 million, with significant decreases in both volume and revenue. Key destinations for processed rice included Senegal, Peru, and the United States. Conversely, Brazil imported 144.6 thousand tons of rice at a cost of US$64.8 million, marking an 11.4% increase in volume and a 46.9% rise in value compared to the same month last year.
