Rice producers ask for ICMS equal to that of Paraná

Rice industry entities met with Governor Eduardo Leite this week at Palácio Piratini to reinforce demands already presented in public hearings. According to Federarroz, the objective is to ensure fiscal competitiveness and to make possible the outflow of the harvest by 2025. The meeting brought together representatives from the Federation of Rice Growers Associations of Rio Grande do Sul (Federarroz), Fearroz, Sindapel, Sindarroz, Farsul, deputies from the Parliamentary Front of Rice, and members of the state government. Among the main requests is the adoption of the so-called "copy and paste" of the ICMS, a mechanism provided for in national legislation that allows the replication of fiscal incentives granted by neighboring states.
