The Regulatory Council of Rioja expects this year, marking the centenary of this Qualified Designation of Origin (DOCa), to be a vintage to remember for its "extraordinary quality," although it is expected to be approximately 20% lower in volume of kilos of grapes harvested compared to 2024. This was explained on Friday in an interview with EFE by Alejandra Rubio Gil, the director of the Control Body of the Regulatory Council of the DOCa Rioja, in the final stretch of this harvest, in which "a very healthy grape has been collected, with a very firm and smooth skin." In this technical department of the Regulatory Council "we are very pleased with what has entered the wineries" and with the first pressings, which reflect the presence of "wines aromatically clean, without herbaceous profiles."
