Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor discovered an illegal scheme for the supply of Faroese salmon from Armenia

As a result of border veterinary control on April 24, 2023, the Service found frozen trimmings and salmon ridges, according to the documents, produced in the Faroe Islands at the Upper Lars checkpoint. Products followed from Armenia, accompanied by a veterinary certificate of the Customs Union to the Russian recipient in St. Petersburg. During the documentary check, the Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors were presented with a copy of the export certificate of the Faroe Islands, issued for the supply of these products to Armenian entrepreneurs. Suspecting an attempt to illegally import livestock products into Russia, Rosselkhoznadzor turned to the State Service for Food and Veterinary Medicine of the Faroe Islands with a request to confirm the fact that a veterinary certificate was issued for the supply of goods to participants in Armenia's foreign economic activity.
