Small Plantations - The Weak Link in the Rubber Supply Chain From January 1, 2026, all rubber and coffee products exported to the European Union (EU) must meet the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), requiring traceability and proof that the supply chain is not linked to deforestation. With raw materials primarily sourced from small-scale farms, Vietnam's rubber industry faces significant pressure to make production data transparent. According to the Plant Protection and Production Department, although Vietnam is classified as a "low-risk" group, all shipments must prove their legality through geographical data and complete legal documentation. The EU makes no exceptions in implementing EUDR for any country.
