In January-May of the current year, Russia increased agricultural product supplies to Lebanon by 1.5 times compared to the same period of the previous year – up to 220,000 tons. This was reported by the federal center for agricultural export development ("Agroexport", owned by the Ministry of Agriculture). This is one of the few cases where the center provided data in physical terms. In monetary terms, exports increased by 35 percent to over $62 million. Further, data on individual product types are again presented in physical terms. Barley supplies grew the most – 2.2 times to 21,000 tons. However, it is clarified that this was not an annual increase, but an excess from the 2023 level, and for the entire year. Wheat came in second place with an increase of almost 1.8 times, from 104,000 to 183,000 tons. This grain traditionally constitutes the largest part of the supply structure to Lebanon.
