Retailers and producers in Russia have agreed to fix the prices of a specific type of potato for the next three months to stabilize prices and increase availability. The decision includes limiting the markup of retail chains on potatoes and producers in selling to retail. The Potato Union is also advocating for the removal of duties on imported vegetables to further stabilize prices. Additionally, many retail chains are starting to work directly with producers under agricultural contracts to plan harvest volumes. The Ministry of Agriculture is also working towards direct long-term supply contracts between producers and retail chains to maintain a stable market for potatoes and other products.
