Since the beginning of 2024, Russia has seen a significant increase in pork exports to China, with figures reaching 33.8 thousand tons and projected to hit 50 thousand tons by year's end. This surge has positioned China as one of Russia's top three buyers of pork, with total pork exports expected to reach 300 thousand tons by the end of the year, a 23% increase from 2023. This growth is attributed to the lifting of restrictions on African swine fever by China in September 2023 and the signing of a protocol for export requirements in December 2023.
